Emergency Management Plan for Clients
At Eternal Life Services, we’re committed to your care and safety during any emergency. Our extensive emergency management plan ensures that you continue to receive the care you need, no matter the circumstances.
Plan Overview
If we need to activate our emergency management plan, rest assured that your well-being is our top priority. We’ll do everything possible to keep your caregiver with you, whether at home or in a facility. Our administrative team will communicate the steps and coordinate your care.
Safety and Continuity of Care
- If conditions are unsafe for caregivers, we will notify you and coordinate alternative medical care by contacting local emergency resources.
- We regularly review and update your emergency plan, including evacuation procedures if necessary.
- In the event of a sudden emergency, we will contact you to assess your needs and ensure your continued care.
Evacuation and Shelter Information
Our intake package includes information on emergency shelters and a special needs form for local officials. If you are registered for a Special Needs Shelter, we’ll confirm your acceptance and arrange transportation if evacuation is required. Please note that shelters are a last resort and may not provide the same level of comfort and care as your home.
Emergency Protocols and Communication
- We’ll attempt to maintain services during an emergency, but if it becomes unsafe, we’ll notify you and arrange alternative care.
- If phone services are down, you can check our website for updates or expect a visit from our staff as soon as possible.
- We ask that you report your status and any needs by contacting our office. If unable, our team will reach out to you.
Prioritization of Clients
In cases where services need to be prioritized, we will focus on:
- Clients without family or friends nearby who have life-threatening conditions.
- Clients with limited family support whose needs are critical.
- Clients who can meet their own basic needs will be prioritized lower, but will still be contacted.
Post-Emergency Care
After the emergency passes, we will contact all clients to arrange the reestablishment of regular care services. We’ll ensure your safety and health needs are fully met as we return to normal operations.
Special Needs Shelter Information
Please remember that shelters are limited in their services and may not provide the same level of care as your home. Refer to the information in your Client Journal and ACHA Form 3110-1006 for detailed instructions on preparing for evacuation and shelter services.
